“ OLord…in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago.”—Isaiah 25:1
We are not alone!! No, I am not talking some sci-fi alien sort of way but in a God’s had it under control for a long time sort of way. The prophet Isaiah must have seemed crazy to the people he spoke to. He told of destruction and renewal to people who didn’t want to listen. He pointed out sin and offered repentance and hope. History tells us that he was put in a hollow log and sawn in two when King Manasseh was tired of hearing from God’s prophet. Not a happy way to go.
We like to know the end result before we jump in. I ask all sorts of questions, look from all kinds of angles, and formulate plans A, B, C, etc….. While it is important to be diligent about our service and life, I realize it is essential to let God be God. He is faithful and knows where He needs to take us. Can I trust His unseen hand with more than just words? Is the gift of Him in our souls enough to satisfy us? If my plan doesn’t happen in my timeframe, can I still praise Him?
“You (Lord) will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.”—Isaiah 26:3
